Forgive me for my long overdue absence. Things have taken a HUGE toll on me. Things have been shitty, due to personal situations. I'm still going through a process. I feel that I've been crushed, beaten, burnt, knocked down, torn apart........there just ain't a single word that could describe how I am right now. So forgive me for that past disappearing acts. "You're wrong if u think that the person u love would treat you just the way you should be treated, respect u and would love u forever." Hopefully I'll get over this.SOON.

Well I know that I've not been posting up any new posts about what had happened ever since Japan,and I do feel awful for not updating my blog for MONTHS!!

Till now,I ashamely(heck,is there a word like this???) admit that I haf approximately EIGHT(8) pending posts!!!!!!!*malu,malu* =(

And now that I am driven to feel bad for not updating this blog by a few,I remind myself almost everyday to update this..unfortunately I'm not allowed though.WHY??Because "Koass" aka "Dokter Muda" has finally start and my time now is better put to use for resting after being on duty in the ward or studying(though I'm not doing that that much.YET). "Dokter muda" is they call us here in the hospital,direct translation meaning "Young Doctor",which is medical student doing their practicals in the hospital,like me :)

Thus there's lesser time for updates.Sure, I've been told more times than not to terminate my blog,but I assure you that I will post up about what I've been through..as usual,the what,where,who and what not.

I'm finally back in Kuching!(again,again..hehe)My first step onto the ground of Kuching International Airport never felt this sweet! =)

After long flying hours,often having immigration check-ins and check-outs,having airports as my home for one and a half day and most of all missing out on REUNION DINNER(bleh!),I am home!

The short one month in Japan was fun,new and interesting,and many times I didn't even feel like leaving.But being home is simple bliss at the moment!

Kuching friends,Kuching food,Kuching room,Kuching's CNY...HERE I COME!

LOADS to make up for missing out on the reunion dinner.lol!

Happy Chinese/Tiger New Year Everyone!It's gonna be an awesome year!

And since it's also February 14th,a day where most are warm in their beloved's arms,fuzzy-wuzzy,lovey-dovey and all that's about love.Happy Valentine's Day!

Stop Digging Your Booger!

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN ANYONE WHO KEEPS DIGGING HIS/HER NASAL TO GET THAT BOOGER RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU?

REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU'RE THERE,THAT SAME PERSON IS DIGGING IN AND OUT,IN AND OUT.

ALMOST EVERY SINGLE DAY?

I DO!!!!!!!!!!

AND I'M SO DISGUSTED AND ANNOYED!!!!!!!!

I do not mind people digging their smelling organ.

It is fine if you want to clean it up.

But I'm NOT okay with them doing in it front of me over and over and over and over again!!!!

I'm NOT okay with you cleaning it in front of others.

And I'm DEFINITELY NOT okay with you rubbing/pressing/rolling your booger with your fingers and planting them on any surfaces,okay?!??!?!?

Matsumoto #3:Nakayama Community Centre

This was during my first week here,was in Sports Medicine and on Thursday,followed Mayuko(Dr.Mayuko now. Ph.D =) ) to Nakayama Community Centre to collect data from the participants of the interval walking training programme,one of Mayuko's research study,supported by Jukunen Taiidagaku,a non-profit organization.

Before I arrived,I expected tons of people at the centre.I was wrong.dead wrong.Instead of having many many elderly,there were not more than 10.I was actually worried not bein able to communicate with them becz of the language barrier. =S Just as Mayuko and I arrived,the participants were chatting away,sipping on hot japanese green tea and munching on titbits.We were invited to join and the usual process of answering questions started.Where are you from?How long in will you be in Japan?What's your name?yadayadayada...Of course it wasn't in english,Mayuko translated for me =) As we were talking,I noticed snacks I've not seen before.A few pickled titbits...I thought after collecting the data and munching,it was done..No,they had a short exercise training after that.I was like "Huh??You're exercising after food???"Oh well...

It was fun too!I noticed the participants are all very very young-at-heart =) And they looked really healthy considering their age..Exercises was done..Laughin was done..Byebye was done..Took pictures..And done.We went back to the department..I'm in the midst of bloggin but now,I gotta run.Thus,the hurry..Sorry guys.. =) Catch up soon!!!

Matsumoto #2:Sports Medicine

It's been 13 days since arriving here...Arrived here on Sunday,Jan 17th and my elective programme was gonna start the very next day.My elective programme consists of 4 different department each week.My first week was in the Sports Medicine Department....And I LOVE LOVE LOVE BEING THR!!!Of course,being a stranger in the department led me feeling a lil shy.My programme coordinator,Prof.Maki brought me to the department on Monday,met Prof.Nose(Nose Sensei,I call him) and was introduced to the people in that department.

"Yoroshiku-Onegai-Shimasu" was the first thing I said to Nose Sensei as I gave him a small bag of gifts after being introduced to him.It's a phrase to say when greeting and thanking someone where you are gettin/learning/asking a favour from that person.We then had a short briefin of what's gonna happen that week and I had to introduced myself and tell why I'm interested in that department.Almost every single one of them are active in sports I tell ya!Soccer aka. football,42km marathon,Kendo(Japanese fencing),blablabla...they're reli active ppl!Anyway....I was led to my own office space by Shizue,one of the assistant professors.I shared the same room with her and another assistant professor,YoshiIchiroKamijio,I simply call him Ichiro after a famous baseball player.

My first day there...Shizue explained some of the research and studies they were doing..and still doing..She explained her study,which involves mice,to compare the role of baroreflex control and the central pressor in heart rate.She also explained another study about effects of interval walking programme to the middle-aged and elderly done by Mayuko.Discussed and discussed and asked and asked...Then it was lunch time!=) After that,Shizue brought me to the experiment lab to observe her experiment....

See those boxes thr?There's a mouse in each box.They had their head cut open to insert electrodes to check their cerebral blood flow,and needle underneath their skin to detect bp and so forth.Poor lab rats.

Last tuesday,I did my own VO2 peak test,a test to measure my maximum oxygen consumption. I was brought into the climate chamber room where they had bicycles,ECG,BP sets,n whole lot of other stuff.The temperature of the room was at 28degrees with a pressure of 718atm.I had to use a mask connected to the spirometer(a device which measures my O2 level) and all these things attached to me,cycled maintaining 60rpm against which increased every 3 minutes. I managed to continue for onli16minutes.The last minute was hell!It felt like my thigh muscles were gonna pull out from my bones!After results were taken,graphs were made and I compared my fitness level with other subjects as well.From the graphs,workload could then be calculated,which in turn means you can calculate your kilocalorie output.It was definitely interesting :)

Then on Thursday,I went to Nakayama Community Centre in the morning(But I'll tell about it in the next post..hehe ) and in the afternun,one of the researcher in the department,Shige had to present his paper to lotsa ppl in town and I went as well.Which meant that I could go to town for abit!Shizue and I took the bus after lunch,and she brought me to this bakery-like shop.It sells all sorts of cakes and japanese traditional sweets.Most of them looked to pretty to be eaten,though.

Dorayaki!!!Yummy!!They told me these dorayakis from this shop was one of the good ones!Filled with red beans content.YUM!!Look at the price for each...... =.=""

But the main reason Shizue brought me to town was to try the ice cream here.You don't have to do anything.Wait for Mr.Ice Cream Robot to get them for you =) Slot in a coin given by the cashier,pick your size,medium or large..It moves to your command.....

And voila!!!Huge fat-ass ice cream!!Creamy!Rich!Wafer cone was crispy!Halleluyah!Halleluyah! =P
They have different flavour each day too..Mine was strawberry..But it didn't taste like the ones back home.It tasted like it had a mixture of Fro-Yo and fresh strawberry. =)

Then we head on to the presentation.I was sleepy after that though*winks*

I did the same thing on Wednesday and Thurday.Following Ichiro on his experiments about the effect of Sports Drink.It was interesting but the waiting time was a lil bit boring at 1st,since I just observe.After awhile,I got to take urine sample(no big deal,I knw..But still,at least I got to do smth.. =P ) It was great also because I got to refresh my understanding about the circulation system from Ichiro,he asked questions that got me thinking alot.I loved it!

After experiment on Friday,I get to check my own Hematocrit,Hemoglobin and Plasma Protein level.It wasn't as much excitement compared to observing an operation 1st hand,bt still new.At least I know how ppl do it =) Lotsa centrifuger and flame spectrometer and hand refractrometer..blablabla..point is,lotsa expensive equipments.

Friday finally came and it was my last day in the Sports Medicine Department.I love the people there and how much they're willing to share and teach.Nakajima-san,the secretary of the department was so so so so sweet!She asked Shizue to pass me this lil bear,they call kooma(Not sure of the spelling) when I was not there.I was touched!Like Seriously!

This is gonna be a short quick update about being here in Matsumoto,Japan.I mean real short and quick.

Travelled by ThaiAirways from Singapore to Bangkok.

My Hindi Meal,they called it.

Any selection of your choice of entertainment.Problem for me was my screen kept gettin jammed up =/

And your choice of alcoholic beverages were provided.See that stewardess there?She's really sweet and damn right pretty =)

After long hours of waiting and sleeping,finally....Nagoya!!Loved this view =) But it wasnt the end....

Got into a shuttle taxi from ChubuCentrair,Nagoya....add another 4.5hours drive to Matsumoto..Finally,in Matsumoto City.First impression of it:Clean,No traffic jams,Smooth Roads. No wait.Very very first thing in my mind was:COLD!!!!!!It was 3degrees celsius then =( I finally arrived in Matsumoto Lutheran Church where I had to meet Prof. Maki,our coordinator.

After my briefing about our stay here,lunch,then a tour around the university,campus and hospital site..finally to my room.It's alike a hotel room.I have to change rooms though..btwn 3 rooms.2 with attached shower and 1 without.

I gotta head out for lunch now...Here are some of the bento meals I had the past week.Other pics will come soon :)

Back and Gone

I was really looking forward to being back home..and last wednesday,I finally was home!

But it's finally friday night,and tomorrow morning,I'm leavin Kuching again..

How time really flies fast..It was in october/november when I first started my application procedures for my elective programme in Japan,which is gonna start next Monday until 12th February.With only 3 months ago I was busy with the preparation..and the time has finally come.It's still so surreal to me that I'm leavin tomorrow to the Land of the Rising Sun.

Will be in Singapore tomorrow morning,then Bangkok tomorrow night and finally Nagoya on Sunday morning.Long long hours..It's gonna be tiring.... :(

And I promise that I'll update with whats happening in Japan here or in Facebook whenever I can..With this,I bid u farewell...

Pre-Christmas Dinner

A christmas dinner before christmas!5 dys before Christmas,a few juniors from uni invited me and other Christians studying in Udayana for a lil' get-together-christmas-dinner at Baker's Corner,a cafe/bakery,quite well-known if I do say so myself.Though I was a lil bit skeptical of going since we weren't really close,but put that aside,went for it with a positive attitude. =/

With only 10minutes drive from my place,we finally reached.Opened the door and my eyes automatically saw the fake snowman and all I could hear in my mind was "take photo,take photo!!".So I did. =)
And here's some of their collection of cake designs.Seeing them made me felt like I wouldn't even eat them!

My friends and I were the early ones.We waited,the main "organiser" came.We waited again,2 came.We waited somemore,after almost a lil bit after an hour,everyone was there.FINALLY.Last ones were the youngest juniors,we waited for them before we ordered,but they didnt wanna eat there at all!like wth,right??Anyway.........annoyance aside.....

Baker's Corner serves Asian,Western and Italian dishes. They even have Hainanese Chicken Rice!

See that?The roasted tenderloin?That's what I ordered.Rp75k!I was in a "christmassy" mood.I wanted something "chrismassy".More like an excuse to try the tenderloin without being made guilty about the price.

My meal.When it was served,I like the way it looked.The portion wasn't pathetic at all.I wasn't disappointed with the portion size.Mashed potatoes shaped somewhat like a cone then deep fried,added alongside it were steamed mixed vegetables of french beans,carrots and mushrooms.And of course,the tenderloin.Cut into 5 moderately sized pieces,roasted at my choice,medium rare.All these were showered with my choice of black pepper sauce,instead of the mushroom sauce.The Verdict?It wasn't heavenly till I could be on cloud nine,but I didnt hate it too.It wasn't all the way juicy,but it wasn't tough too.The taste was just right.On a scale of 0-5,I rated it an overall 3.5.Appearance:not dissappointing,simple,looked tasty.Taste:Right amount of taste,not too salty,meat was marinated quite well,though I'd prefer the sauce to be a lil bit more spicy.

Elisa ordered this,thin-crust Seafood Pizza. It was good.Amount of topping weren't "stingy" =) I ordered the drink below,I can't quite recall what it was..I think it was a blueberry smoothie?I know it was not a strawberry smoothie.Well,basically,a smoothie.It looked really really thick and yummy.One sip and bleh!Not sweet enough and I couldnt really taste the fruit it was used.That much I remember. After adding sugar syrup,it was much better.

Mei Yee ordered a dish Baker's Corner named Hokkien KuehTiaw,if I'm not mistaken.Served in a big bowl,it was definitely tasty and nice!Don't mind tryin it again if it weren't for the price..hehehe...

A senior a year before my batch,Krystle,she ordered "Grilled Salmon",served with what you can see from the pic above.Three words about the salmon:Fresh,Sweet,Thick. =))

In the midst of dinner,we chatted about classes,which church who goes to,where we're gonna be and do during Christmas,blablabla....I think I chatted wif my senior more than the juniors,well mayb js 2-3 juniors.The youngest batch were quiet,and it was awkward for me to talk with them,honestly I don't know why. =.="" Then we took photos,each had to wear this headband,I bought in a mall.It had reindeer horns on it and a mini bell at the end of the horns.EVeryone had to use it,even the boys.It was cute. =) After all the talkin and eatin,finally it ended.As usual,took pic :)

All who were at the dinner(minus)2 of our youngest juniors.They had to go meet their friends 'cause they had other plans.Go figure =P Anyway.......Nice pic,yea?

1Malaysia over Allah???

I guess everyone knows about the big hoo-haa that's been going around in the news,not to forget tons of people updating their status regarding this matter.

one word.

ALLAH.

Allah,which simply means God in Arabic.

This one word caused such a commotion in Malaysia,which I am now embarrassed to call my Home at this very moment. Youngsters setting up molotov cocktails in churches after the court overturned the ban of using this word in the "Herald" or if any,other christian newsletter,articles and what not. Just because of ONE word,this has caused much anger and rebellion in those insecure in what they believe in,leading them to stupidity.

57 years of independance and with our current Prime Minister trying to instill the 1Malaysia "trend" yet there are people this shallow who thinks that they are making a stand and leaving a mark in Malaysia about their rights of using "Allah". Is this is what Malaysia is slowly becoming? Only certain people can use this word?What next?Only certain people are able to have their say in Malaysia while others just sit in silence?This is NOT the Malaysia we hope to live in,well for me it isn't. Harmony and Peace in our country is slowly thinning if this sort of attitude continues.

Undeniably,sadness and dare I say,anger too are felt in the hearts of those affected by this matter. If your friend or relative or anyone you know attends any one of the churches burnt,lift them up and be with them.As for me,I do not know anyone from these churches.All I can do is to pray for them and write this blog. Remember,the Lord Jesus Christ is a FORGIVING God. Do not let anger creep into our hearts and have hatred towards these people. The very first time I found out about the attacks,it reminded me what Jesus said when He was crucified on the cross:

"Forgive them Father for they know not what they have done."

Our Father reigns above all,thus,we as His children have no reason to be afraid and be worried of those who opposes Him. When we are not able to do things with our own strength,He does it for us.There is no point being angry with such people. So for those reading this,I urge you to pray for our brothers and sisters affected by this attack,and for the Lord's light to shine in our beloved beautiful country.

It's FINALLY Christmas!!!And I'm back home in Kuching!!woohoo!!After 3 yrs of not being able to be home for christmas,I finally got the chance to this year!! Just got back from church for the annual Christmas Eve Service and as usual,it was packed,like sardines in cans! (= After that,drove around,not knowing where I actually wanted to go..and I was near The Spring,and they had fireworks!So I stopped at a carpark nearby the mall and sat in the car,watching them for about 7mins!Though I think it lasted for about 15.It was pleasant watching it.Took a vid of it! =)) Unfortunately,I'm havin trouble uploadin it here.bugger~

Crashed Down

This happened 'bout almost a month ago...My room in Bali.Freakingly dirty,messed up bathroom..It was midnight,parents were sleepin,I was studyin(well,more to TRYING to study)....

And then "THUD"! It wasn't a loud crash.But a faint thud,a sound similar when you knock your hands in a fist-like manner onto the table.

As soon as I heard it,I knew straightaway what the sound was.THIS.

I have actually foresee this happening.Know why?Months past by and weeks ago,I saw that my ceiling in the bathroom had cracks all over. At first,I thought it was because of the earthquakes in Bali.Boy was I wrong.A couple of weeks before this happened,I noticed a thick brown line of what looks like nests by the window in the pantry.So I went over to check it out and removed my cutting board...and I had goosebumps in disgust!On the other side of the cutting board,you could see rows of eaten bits of the board,infested with termites!I thought they were maggots at first 'cause I could only see the white end of the body which was elongated. Only when the ceiling came crashing down then I realised that they were friggin-full-on-fat-arse-termites!!!Informed the caretaker of my building and all he said was"Okay,nanti ya..harus tunggu tukangnya..tukangnya sibuk.." Days after days after days..It was the same old reason.Bugged him every single time I saw him to get the ceiling fixed and remove the nest,which was spreadin and gettin longer like nobody's business!Waited and waited waited..till my parents came over to Bali,and that night itself,BOOM!!!!A hole in the ceiling!!

Procrastination ain't good in this case!duh!I shall not complain and grumble about how most people work in a certain place...Whatever it is,this is the result of such procrastination. =(

I'm putting this as one of the many reasons us human should abhor procrastination. It destroys your ceiling.Bleh!

August Sem Break: Original Carwash and more!

Pending entry #4.....I think some of you are gonna bash my head up for this pending entries... =P Events long gone...But still gonna post 'bout it..Be patient with me,kay?Since I've been busy and LAZY in updating my blog,I shall repay some justice here..As much as I'm awake right now,because of this cuppa joe I'm indulging this very moment and had slept the entire day,I'd better post up my pending entries.So a few more post are gonna come right after this. So here goes...the little events back home(yay to Kuching!!!!) that I can recall during my last sem break.. =)

This is "The Carwash",owned by one of Tiing Phek King's sons.Went there for lunch with my parents one random day.This has been sort of our fav place to dine when I'm back home in Kuching,well,at least for me,it is. I'm kinda surprised that many do not know this place,'cause I always thought it was rather a famous place,considering it serves rather delish main courses with it's "giant" plates of desserts. My fav dishes so far here is the ever-so-thick-mango juice,Pineapple Rice(unless they serve it with peanuts instead of cashew nuts =S ) and the somethingsomething lamb dish( cant recall the name,sorry). I'm not sure of the quality of the food currently,but as far as I'm concerned,it's been good every time I dine there. I think what attracted me there in the first place was the deco.I love their idea of using their goods,ingredients,utensils and so forth as part of their deco in it. Most of all I love antiques.Call me bias for loving this place but I think their deco of antique barber chairs and telephones kinda gave me away. I wish they had more antiques there though. Dishes served are both Asian and Western cuisine.,and a lilttle bit of Italian.Prices here are little bit on the uphill but the single portion is enough for 2-3 persons,so that makes it much much more affordable! =) SHall stop typing.It's time for the pichas!

Pineapple rice.I've always liked it,but was totally annoyed that day when they used peanuts in it instead of the usual cashew nuts.

Mum ordered Thai Salad.Not my personal favourite choice but I guess it wasn't all that bad.

I had no idea why my dad wanted Fish&Chips here among the many dishes..but wth,It was good too. Fish?good.Chips?big and good.Sauce?good. =)

And finally,you're in the washroom!Nothing very interesting.It's just a toilet anyway. But I what I don't get is the design of the washroom. Running "river" with transparent glass windows??Supposedly it helps in relaxing your bladder sphincter when u hear the sound of flowing water I guess.

Destiny Conference 2009 was awesome.A real eye opener that in Kuching,there are still many who are on fire for Christ and want to make a difference in Kuching. When all these while I thought most Kuchingites only wanted to be known in church for their works,skills and what not.Not for their love in Christ Jesus and having the passion to serve Him and only Him. Attended Destiny without any friends frm my church,instead with friends I've never met,except for Kelvin Yii,who I don't usually talked with often but was ever helpful in giving a ride to and fro for the conference.in BCCK.Thanks Kelvin! Had great food served,met a few great people and most amazingly great sharing!!Speakers were Kevin Loo from City Harvest KL,Dr. Shan Ong,a paediatrician frm Australia, Bro. Kester Tay of EBC(i think!) and Andrew Yeo from Generations Band Singapore.

And finally,early Sept came,and it was time to head back to the island. The holiday has ended.Goodbye my room,Goddbye my tele,Goodbye car....And Hello lectures,Hello books,Hello Bali..Came back to Bali by Airasia and apparently Tony Fernandez's crew thought of this to lighten the atmosphere during flight. =.=" In-flight games.Actually,one game. Three volunteers were called.More like three forced volunteers were picked out to demonstrate the safety procedures given previously by the cabin crew.

The guy in white,from the Middle East and an Aussie guy,in brown with the khaki shorts.And Mr. Obama,tht's what he wants to be known as,sitting on the right.

At first,I really thought it was lame but it actually did change the atmosphere from the usual boring quiet flying hours.

And it was time.I landed in Bali.Bittersweet feelings.

Oh well,2 weeks later,I was back in Kuching during for the Raya Holidays!

I'm taking a short break from cleaning my room.Tired tired tired.Honestly it's been quite some time since I've last moved the tables,luggage and other furnitures lying ard to do some actual real cleaning!Heck.I even carried my bed upright to clean every single corner of the room!(it's low and has rollers on it =],so it wasn't much of a hassle )

The "Ouch" cause my ring finger(tht's the fourth one),hurts.Everytime I try extending it straight,it hurts like mad! Happened since yesterday but it didnt bother me much until today,where I had to move stuffs around,sweeping,mopping.....It hurts even as I'm typing now =( I'm thinking it's a sprain.But thing is,I've had this sorta pain before,right at the same finger. It can't be an early sign of arthritis,I guess.Nop.it isn't.I'm sure of it.ugh.

Yay!!!My parents are right now in LCCT waiting for their flight to BALI!!wootwoot!!Mum's cooking,bits and pieces of Kuching food,lil gifts frm Kuching(if any),I can't wait to meet ya!!Point is,I don't haf to cook!being slightly pampered!wakakakakaka...It's good to have parents visiting you,eh??And to my lovely friends in Bali...BOOYAA! =P lol!

Few nights ago, was the usual normal nothing-special-of-a-night.Oh wait.it wasn't night time,more like early morning..say 'bout 2-ish in the morning?FYI,I do not sleep early.not for a long time,anyway.I blame the endless nights of studying as it came nearer to exams. I blame my body and mind for not adjusting back to the normal cycle. I blame I blame I blame!That's not the point of this entry though.*knock me head*

Anyhuuu,was doing nothin, logging in the net while reading my current book, "Hello,Doggy" by Elaine Fox when suddenly I received a call from a friend stayin in a room above mine,Saras (short for saraswathy).

"Angel,come upstairs.There's a parrot la..come,come..faster.." (she said smth like dat )

I was curious and surprised..and know what I imagined???A HUGE FAT ASS white parrot...

So I went upstairs and walked towards my friend's room.As I was walking nearer and nearer looking out for the huge ass parrot tht was in my mind,it was nowhere to be seen, when suddenly I saw this white shadowy figure at the right side just few rooms away from my friend's,comfortably setting itself on the door latch...

Only then I realised it was the fowl my friend was referring to.And I was like........eh??huh????

Remember when I was still wondering between Japan and Melbourne??Well,apparently my elective programme in Japan will start in mid Jan.which means it'll end around mid Feb(it takes 1month).which also means I would not be able to go to Melbourne with my parents fro the family trip February next year.which now means my flight ticket to melbourne will b wasted.bugger. =S I was reli hoping I could make it to Melbourne,bt jus like what my mum told me"Win some,Lose some" =P Anyway,application form has been sent and I'm still waiting for a reply on a confirmed date. Will update soon.

Right now,my mum has been asking me "what do u need to bring thr?","how much to bring to Japan?","how many winter clothings should you bring?",blablablabla...

oh wait.Gotta pick out winter clothes.

Last friday was not the kind of day I expect to have at all.Well,besides the monthly visit. =.=""" Wasn't felling well that day and I was curling up in bed,tossing and turning,trying to get my mind out of the uncomfortable feeling.Tilll......I received a text from a friend,Mei Yee...

"You and Anthony got selected for the specials studies in Japan."

When I read the text at first,it didnt sink in.I was "occupied" with sleeping and resting,trying to make myself feel better.It was definitely a shocking surprised.Why??For one,when I registered my name for it,I js did it without havin the hope and excitement thinkin and believing tht I'll get selected for it.Two,I was busy thinking of the family trip to Melbourne in Feb my parents had already booked.So it would be kind of a waste of the air ticket if I do go over to Japan.Three,I was sort of confident that I wouldnt go because it would be financially heavy after all the "health chaos" going around in my family.

After resting for a moment and finally realising that I really was selected,I msged my mum and talked wif my parents and we cahtted sumore after tht.And as we were talking,I realised what actually had happened. Thinking back what I prayed for and how I acted towards this whole special studies thingy..This caught me.

"You see?u didnt think and worry too much bout whtr u'll get the spot.And u continued doing wat u do daily without reli hoping and expecting and wanting it from the flesh.But instead,You honestly,reli honestly did pray 'bout it.Pray not to have it,but prayed to Me that if it is My will for you to go,you will go.And if you were not selected,that I will gif u peace and comfort so that you wouldnt fret and be disappointed bout it.But to follow according to My timing."

It was a moment of self realisation.In my heart,I was "wow...now tht's how it feels to try not worrying bout things and leave it all to God.And it works!He actually does something without our understanding,but His.and His timing." That's wat I got from my Friday.Till now,the whole "going-to-Japan" thing hasnt reli sunk in yet. Honestly,I dont knw what I'm feeling bout it.I'm happy and definitely feel blessed to haf been selected.But at the same time...speechless.This is all oh-so-SURREAL.

I'm not saying that I've perfectly mastered the attitude of not worrying at all.But this incident definitely made me climb up a step in the process. Right now,I'm still unsure of the date we're going to Japan,but I'm reli prayin and hoping that it wouldnt clash wif my family trip to Melbourne early Feb.and definitely for FINANCIAL BREAKTHROUGH!!!At this moment,these does sometimes worries me.well,ok,most times. =.="" I'm learning Lord!hehhe =P

Rooftop BBQ

I think this happened last July.We had a barbeque on the rooftop in the building where my friends and I stayed and it was awesome!!We wanted to haf a bbq for quite some time now and it was after exam,so timing was perfect!And we also wanted to haf it partly because of our fren,Meng hon's belated birthday...Had LOTS LOTS and LOTS of food!!I was so so stuffed till I could actually feel my stomach was ready to explode!Not joking!!

Views from the rooftop.To my surprise,the view from above DOES look good.It was windy tht night making d weather perfect!

It was extremely dark if it weren't for the table lamps..hehe Bumch of them gettin the food ready to be barbequed,I think.Look at the moon above,full moon right above us.Beautiful,no?

This will look even better if the cloud weren't blocking part of the moon.

Some of the food we had.Stemed sweetcorns,bbqed sausages.The green vege was for the tomatoe macaroni soup Emmy and I made.Well,it was more of me js being the sous chef..hahha But I did a fair share of work cooking it! Oh yea,I think the red coloured thingy in the greyish blue bowl were watermelons.Had so much of all these.

Also had "homemade" garlic bread,chicken wings(of coz!!)We prepared two types of flavour for the wings,Black Pepper and Barbeque Sauce.Both so yummy!!And see that rectangular white cube?It's "omochi".Barbequed,Wrapped with seaweed and Dipped in soy sauce....My Favourite!!!I just love the texture of it,and the taste of seaweed!I'm a huge addict for Japanese food by the way..*beams* Each of us had UNcountable number of wings and garlic bread.And a HUGE bowl of macaroni soup!Super stuffed!!!

After eating,or at least taking a break frm eating,we gave Meng Hon his belated birthday gift.Gave him a coffee maker.One tht's way better than the one he had before this and it broke!Hmm...I wonder whtr he still uses it??R U USING IT,Meng Hon?????

After stuffing ourselves with non-stop supply of oh-so-glorious food,Meng Hon tried using the coffee maker the 1st time with "I-dono-who's-coffee powder-it belongs-to" coffee..We tried some,and it taste SUPERB.....................NOT!!!! =( well,tht was what most of them said.to me it was ok.js bland ok.

Tht's it for now.Obligation #2 done. =) Wait up fr the nxt one aite!Want a piece of the garlic bread?

I'm back in Kuching.....AGAIN!!yes yes...My last post stated that I was bck in Kuching..I was.And I went back to Bali last month,was there for 3 weeks or so...and now I'm back again!And when people knew I'm comin bck home again...heard lots this....

I'm Back in Kuching!My hometown!The place where I'll be taken care by my mummy...heheh Homecooked food by my mummy..Was so excited to be bck!

But just whn I thought I'm gonna start my first day in Kuching will a smile and excitement....I got SICK.Just whn I jus landed Kuching International Airport(KIA),had the cough...And thought it was nothin..Next was,flu followed by fever..So now I've got the whole package...

And no,it isnt the "Swine Flu" aka. H1N1 virus.....And I'm not the carrier*Sticks tongue out*

Just wanted to update my blog now..Took my meds after lunch,drank lotsa hot Roibose Tea,had ginseng tea frm Eu Yan Sang....And wearing long pants and shirt,covered with my sweater...on a HOT day without the aircon or fan on.Imagine being in a sauna,sweating all the time.. :S

Will update more later,when I feel much better.Still haf lotsa pending entries..Toodles~

This is jus reminds me of the song by......umm...by.....umm...umm..umm..A band I js cant quite put my finger on!Was it Foo Fighters?or mayb not?So what,I think you guys knw which song I'm thinking of.. ;P

It's Saturday.A day where most would start the day later,relax,hang out wif friends and so forth.ME???I had to go to campus at ard 7smth this morning for my OSCE(Objective Structured Clinical Examination) exam,which is like a practical exam. With only 3 hours of sleep,went to campus and we had a "Drug Prescription" test. We had to write how to prescribe certain drugs,think of the dosage,side effect and interactions between various drugs.

Next,each of us had to wait for our turn to proceed with our Neurological,Musculoskeletal and History Taking examination. I waited for bout 3 hours for my turn!!But the actual exam period,was only 5 min for each stations!Tht was the fastest 15 min of my life!hehhehe I think I did quite well for each station,done my best preparing for it too.So hopefully,result's gonna be great!*crossed fingers* ;)

And in a matter of hours,less than 12 hrs,I'll b on my way bck to Malaysia!A step closer to Home!!And I'm super super STOKED!!!Totally needed rest frm this sem's studies and exams!Days of salivating over food bck in Kuching,home-cooked food and thinking of being in my own a/c room for the past few weeks will soon come to an end!yayness!!

I've even made a mini plan once I reach Kuching.

Plan:
1. Reach Kuching at 1.30pm(which is perfect time for lunch!)
2. Lunch: Chicken Rice
3. Reach "Home Sweet Home"
4.Unpack and Rest in my room
5. Evening tea:DURIAN!!!DURIAN!!DURIAN!!!!!*wink*

So there,mini plan once I reach Kch.Cant wait!Been thinkin of Durians non-stop!hehehhe cant wait cant wait cant wait!!!I"m so so so stoked rite now!hehhee Finally in time to b bck for Durian season,after almost 3 yrs!Though it's almost the end,who cares!Still get to haf lotsa them!

It is now 15th July 2009. The day when two BEAUTIFUL people whom I care so dearly are officially 23 yrs old!!!!

One whom I've known in Kuching since way way back when we were little playful primary school kids and grew closer with our other bestfrens in Form 1. She reminds me of the bright sunshine and NON-STOP laughters!

Another,I've met for the first time a few yrs back right here in Bali,but grew closer the past year or months?umm..dont knw..hehhe She reminds me of heart-shaped balloons,rainbows and being firm when she has to.

One,who cheers me up when I'm feelin a wee bit down. She makes nonsense crap or jokes that I cant help but smile and laugh. Even when us gals haf those serious girl talks,at the end of it,she'll never fail to say something witty to lighten us up.well,to me,at least *wink*

yes yes,title's angel&stitch...so obviously it has something to do wif me and Stitch.I'm stitching smth..duh. And the pic above is my "guinea pig",Stitch.

Started our Basic Clinical Skills classes on monday,and my group started with suturing..What's suturing u say?It's just stitching up any wound in the body..Tailors Sew,Doctors Suture =) We had a lecture and suture demonstration on our 1st class on Monday. And in about 7 hrs,we're gonna have our exam on suturing.I love suturing!I actually cant wait doing sutures on real life patients!*wink*

Instruments I used to practice stitching.Didnt buy the "Hecting Set" cause the full set will b prepared during the exam and I only needed this to practice simple sutures. The scissor-like instrument is a "needle-holder" and the one on it's right is a "Fungsional Forcep". Blue packet contained a non-absorbable thread and a curved needle,both sterile. We practiced on a wounded mannequin hand.Couldnt flick it bck home so had to find other materials to practice on. My friends practiced on this type of sponge,not d usual sponge,but a harder sponge. I didnt get d sponge.Opted for a banana instead,js for fun. They even use banana in "Grey's Anatomy".

See the curved needle?That's one type of many various curved needle.Yeap!that's the one that's gonna pierce through ur skin and flesh......Afraid???Disgusted when u're imagining it this very moment???Can u feel the pain as it pierce thru ur bleeding flesh???*OUCH!!!!*

No worries..U're gonna be injected with a local anaesthesia beforehand.No pain... =)

My last practice on Stitch

My last attempt of practising doing suturing.This is a very bad example of a suture.Why?First,cause the thread I used was a sewing thread cause my suture thread finished.That's why the "wound" couldnt close.Second,I jus did this for d sake of takin d pic fr d blog.I've forgotten to take pics of previous ones I did which was way better. Hence,the not so neat sutures.

Suture evaluation is in less than 7 hours.Wish me luck,guys!praying to do well...And I'll do well.Amen! =)

A Neuro-Testimony

Remember my neurology exam I posted up few posts before this??So yea,the result came out today!!

AND I PASSED OVERALL!!!All thanks to MY PAPA J!!MY ROCK!!!Not because of me.Not my books.Well,fine..abit of me,abit of them books and abit to my frens.*hiaks!*BUT.........

THANKS!!TO MY LORD,MY FATHER IN HEAVEN,MY GUIDE,MY LORD JESUS CHRIST!!!

I've mention before that I reli,reli,reli didnt do well for my basic neurology exam rite..and I was reli worried that I wouldnt pass my neurology exam and had to come bck to Bali in the midst of my sem break.Think of how much my parents gotta spent on the extra return flight tickets and on immigration documents,especially whn I'm taking two flights to go back to Kch.Did I mention that every student studyin in Indonesia has to spent extra money?A minimum of Rp350,000 to get out of Indonesia for some re-entry permit + airport tax?I didnt???well,now you knw. =.='''

So anyhu....Results came out today and I PASSED!I prayed to God the whole time asking for a miracle that I'll get more than 80%,preferably 82%,for my clinical neurology exam to enable me to pass overall. A miracle because...well,ashamed to say this,but,I rarely get more than 80% in my theory exams..not never.just rarely.RARE. =S

But God answered my prayer!wootwoot!!I've prayed for 82%.And He gave me 82% for my clinical neuro!!Not more,not less.EXACTLY what I prayed for. Some of you would be thinking rite now "SO what??You didnt get more than that!And clinical neuro was freakin EASY!!!LOTSA ppl passed and got better overall results than u!!You sure its because of ur prayer??"
So what??I prayed for that,I GOT THAT!And I'm not comparing myself with others!I only wanted to pass overall!since I did reli reli bad in my basic neuro,I just wanted to pass!Got a 72% overall.And besides,thru that period,I've learnt something*wink*

The whole period from before the clinical exam till today,I've learn to TOTALLY trust God.Not 30%,50% or even 80% trust.I've learnt to trust in the Almighty God 100%!!Wasn't easy for me to do that since I always had doubts in my exams and relied in my own strength,my own capacity.We,as humans,ALWAYS tend to do and see things in our own perspective,no?A person who always rely on herself and in her opinion..sure is difficult to fully trust and rely on God sumtimes.

But it's through that time I finally understand and experience the true meaning of TOTAL 100% TRUST in GOD. To trust without doubt, without internal conflict,without negative thoughts constantly running thru ur mind.But instead have peace and leave it in His hands that God will bless me with what I prayed for.

I just wanna encourage u guys.If there's anyone of u feeling that at this moment,achieveing that goal or dream u've always wanted seems so so far-fetched,don't be afraid or worried.It's hard but do not let the negativity control your mind and emotions.I knw it's so easy to think negatively bout everything.But looking on the bright side of things and havin hope is what helps u thru the stress.But most importantly,"FIX YOUR EYES ON HIM" and continuously pray with total trust. Our God is a BIG GOD and he NEVER fails his children. Sumtimes what we asked for don't happen according to our way,but that doesnt mean good things ain't gonna happen.THings happen for a reason and things happen according to GOd's timing.Be patient. =)
Our Lord's thinking is way way larger than how we think because He sees the BIG picture of things in our life.We don't.We,humans,onli focused on the problem and the stained black dots in our life.

So there,do not be afraid to have BIG dreams and BIG goals. Come to Him and He'll always guide you thru to achieve them!

Gambier Street Demolition??

I was checking my fb account yesterday,and received a msg frm someone concerning The Gambier Street Esplanade.Even reading the title annoyed me. I was(wait.I still am)so friggin disappointed to find out that Kuching goverment is gonna demolish Gambier Street Market.wth..!!??

Demolish the market and make it into an explanade? I do admit having that market there does cause traffic problems,but I reli disagree in demolishing it.It is after all one of the oldest buildings there!It shud b preserved as one of Kuching's historical buildings. The government really shud have come up with other solutions if it's because of the traffic problem and the cleanliness.But not replace it wif an esplanade! Certain rules on the "loading and unloading" as well as the traffic could be enforced. One of the problem was Kuchingites parking their vehicles haphazardly whrever they want,even to the extend of having 2or3 lanes in the so-called narrow road,causing massive traffic jams. That's not the market's fault!It's the drivers' faults.Well,enforced some laws on that then!Not demolish the market! And if it's bout cleanliness,hire cleaners for that area!Rather than spending RM7 million for the esplanade project,might as well use it to clean the area!Use competent traffic police to help the traffic flow so that drivers wont double,no I mean,triple-parked their vehicles!

Hmm......I'm so disappointed bout this.I never thought I'd be so hyped up bout things in Kuching.Let alone about a market I rarely go to.Heck,I suck big time at History lessons in school yet I think it should be a historical landmark.

Y'all think its one of those projects so that "certain parties" could gain extra income and use it for personal reasons??I do.Very much think so.Very.

It's sad to see historical "antique" buildings you've seen your whole life but never really appreciate it ,destroyed.It's gonna be gone...forever.

As of June 15,demolition project has started.

Imagine,bricks and pillars,roofs and floors,"saw" years and years of lives/lifestyles/incidences/wars...heck,maybe even James Brooke passing by the building itself. And if they could speak,they would tell us wonderful stories of how people lived before.And if they could speak,right now....they''re shouting "NO!DONT DESTROY US!",while crying.

As I read my notes on "Psychosexual Development",cant help but say this.

Six stages in the human psychosexual development:
--> Oral Stage
--> Anal Stage
-->Urethral Stage
--> Phallic Stage
-->Latency Stage
-->Genital Stage

So these are the stages any human will go through from birth till he/she reaches adulthood.

Now in the Genital Stage-From when puberty starts till I reach young adulthood. I AM a young adult. :S

Genital Stage- The physiological maturation of systems of genital(sexual) functioning and attendant hormonal systems leads to and intensification of drives, particularly libidinal drives. This stage produces a REGRESSION in personality organization,which REOPENS CONFLICTS of the stages before it and provides OPPORTUNITY for a RERESOLUTION of these conflicts,to enable a person to achieve a MATURE sexual and ADULT identity. The objective of this stage: ULTIMATE separation from dependance on and attachment to the parents and the establishment of MATURE,NONINCESTUOUS object relations.

This kept me thinking...means that all those attitude and problems I have,which are not solved yet,I still have time to change and solve it NOW!It's not too late!

Relationships with family and people around me..I can make them better,and have the courage to just open up and not just bury them all inside me till they're all buried so deep and I cant cover them anymore. I gotta go thru this stage without any fixation....."To achieve a mature sense of personal identity and acceptance and the integration of sets of new adult roles and functions".

No wonder I cant keep everything inside and just take it in...It's changing me..not in a positive manner. I need resolution of all fixations.

4th Wedding in Bali

OCCASSION: The day when Vanro and Ratna were officially pronounced as husband and wife!!!yay!!!

I was browsing through the net to look for pics of GWK for u guys to see and I found this!!--->http://gwk-culturalpark.com/events/2009/vanrho-ratna/

Their wedding was featured in GWK's own website! =D GWK is actually one of the tourist spots in Bali.And the view from above is simply stunning!GWK actually stands for Garuda Wisnu Kencana. Garuda is this mythical bird and Wisnu is one of the Gods in Hinduism. Do check out more bout GWK Cultural Park. I've been there and the views are simply breathtaking. There are parts and pieces of the Garuda and Wisnu all over Indonesia and is still in the process of putting all of them together and the statue is gonna be like one of the tallest statue in South East Asia?or is it Asia??umm..I'm not so sure...will get right back on that after I recheck on that. =)

ANYWAY............I've side-tracked too long!Back to the wedding!!teehee...

My frens and I rented a car to drive to GWK,which is about almost an hour drive from our place.Man...i tell u,traffic in Bali sucks!It's like as if there's not traffic law here at all!All 5 of us thought that we'll be late for the ceremony bcz the car we rented arrived more than an hour late!We arrived an hour later and walked into Jendela Bali. I loved the setting.Because it was simple but the same time beautiful. The theme colour of the event was white. Round tables and chairs were covered with white tablecloths,flowers and candlelights in the middle of the table. Flowers decorated the place and there was a square pond right in the middle of the open area. Weather was PERFECT!Just the right amount of wind.hehe Not too windy,not too hot. God made the weather perfect for this lovely couple's big day!

Fifteen minutes after we arrived, the ceremony started. After three bride's maids came dwn frm the stairs, we finally saw "Queen of the Day" accompanied by her father. Looking ever so elegant in her wedding gown, she was given away to her "King".

Doesn't Ratna's wedding dress reminds u the the dress Hilary Duff wore for her prom in "A Cinderella Story"??

Ratna's three beautiful maids: Kadek, Jade, Amy (from left)...OH!and the beautiful in the greentube dress,she's Sarah!mentioned bout her in the post before this =) She's the event organiser of the wedding.

The ceremony started with "Sungkeman". Both Vanro and Ratna are javanese,so it's natural they do this. Sungkeman is a Javanese ritual ceremony in which the bride and groom kneel dwn before their parents and in-laws to thank them for taking care of them when they were still "living in their home". It's according to Asian culture that the child stays with their parents till they're married,right? But in Vanro and Ratna's case,like most chidren,they didn't bcz their families were in Java and they're working in Bali. Sungkeman also symbolizes parents giving their blessings to the couple and "letting them go live their own lives".

Usual wedding ceremony continued and it as time for the couple to exchange their vows. Vanro said his vows first and halfway thru,he stopped,trying to fight back his tears.So so so sweet.... =)

Pastor Wayan (translated to english): Now I pronounced these two as Husband and Wife. And everyone rejoiced for them. Their first kiss as HUSBAND AND WIFE!! After the first kiss,everyone said it wasn't enough..MORE MORE MORE!!hahaha this part is always the part everyone made lotsa noise..hahaha =.='

After the whole ceremony was done,everyone prayed for the Vanro and Ratna,led by our pastors. May God bless them and guide them in everything they go through and do. =) Then,it was time to eat!yay!!hahaha

Halfway thru dinner,the couple were invited to cut their wedding cake,whr u can c frm the pic,the actual cake on the top layer and muffins as the base and first layer. The cake wasn't bad at all. I think the cake was like a spongecake thingy with blueberry jam between the layers.nice~

After the eating session, Vanro and Ratna had their first dance as husband and wife,the bride's maids and best men joined...then more came and couple-danced..And before we knew it,more and more were enjoying dancing together to the tunes of dangdut and hiphop music!Dance,people dance!Life those hands up in the air!

Dances were over and it the whole celebration was almost over.Every took turns taking tons of pics with the couple.Kinda pitied the couple for standing there for so long taking LOTSA pics wif everyone. So there,bits and pieces of the 4th wedding in Bali I attended..Suppose to b the 5th,it I didnt haf to b in M'sia during another church fren's wedding.. =(

Received an invitation card bout 2wks ago after church service on sunday....

VANRO AND RATNA'S WEDDING!!!!!YAY!!!!

How cool is this??A wedding card in a form of a CD album!!Definitely different from other wedding invitation cards I've received.Here's some pics of the card/cd album! =) The cd contains a number of love songs,both English and Indonesian. At 1st,I thought that there's gonna be pictures of them inside..hehe

Vanro and Ratna's wedding will be the 4th wedding ceremony I attend here in Bali.. 4 weddings in just 2 and half years!Bet there's gonna b more in the coming years too..yay!!hehe In less about 15 hours from now,they're gonna be Mr.&Mrs. Sevanrho!yay!!The wedding ceremony and reception is gonna be held around GWK,which is bout a lil bit more than an hour drive from Denpasar,if I'm not mistaken. Vanro and Ratna are both AMAZING ppl frm my church.Ratna's SO SO SO GREAT with kids!One of many reasons why she heads the Compassion Project in our church.And Vanro's the youth pastor,GREAT VOICE!and definitely has good leadership skills too!They shared a lil smth in church last sunday bout d weddin preparation and how God has reli been wif them throughout the whole weddin preparation,the finance and all dat..And I can see that they reli do totally trust in Our Lord in the finance area considering they don't really earn alot as church workers.It's great and encouraging to see God's children to fully put their faith in God,relyin on Him in everything. =)

Green Curry

::Note:This post started about a month ago right after my musculoskeletal exam,but is only published now.::

I finally cooked a proper dinner!!!heck.I finally COOKED!!After weeks and weeks of not cooking due to the intention of saving time so that I could study, I cooked. And today, I made a dish that I've never cooked before. My FIRST ATTEMPT in GREEN CURRY!*smiling widely*

So here's bits and pieces of the steps =) Unfortunately,the green curry paste wasn't made from scratch.. =/

Angel's not-so-perfect-attempt of green curry,guys.

Simple curry=simple ingredients used. The leafy cabbage isn't used often for curry.But these were all I had =P

The green curry paste I used "Mae Pranom Brand",bought in Bangkok when was there.There was another brand my mum used which was better than this though.Still,it wasnt bad at all =)

Don't forget the coconut cream!A must.It's not like other curry whereby u can actually opt not to use the coconut milk.

And of course the chillies!!!!The more chillies,the spicier, the better!green chillies,red chillies,chilli padi,round chillies.Your choice. You can either pound or blend them. I pound. That's how the pestle and mortar here looks like.Mine's a smaller version. I think there are others that's smaller.

Heat ur pan,then put in abit of the coconut cream and add the green curry paste. Stir fry until you can see like there's oil comin out and u can start smellin the aroma frm the herbs of the paste. After that,just put in the meat. It can be chicken or mutton or beef or prawns,u name it!It's up to u!

I did a mistake though..hehe Put too much of coconut cream and milk earlier on so I had to take out to stir fry the chicken,worried that the coconut milk will b bad if it's too long in the heat.

Add the rest of the coconut milk and let the whole thing to boil. When it starts boiling,add your choice of greens and beans. I chose the "purple",leafy and the "orange". =) Continue to let it boil. Add salt to your liking. You can also add a lil bit of belacan to ur liking =)
And it's done!ready to be tasted!

Finally,served in a bowl.Ate it wif a plate of HOT steamed rice.Mmm...curry was a lil bit more watery than it should be though.. =S But still tasted not bad at all,considerin the 1st time.giving excuses fr myself..haha it would tast so much better too if I added much much more chillies..Chilli freak! Had losta leftovers too.But I do reckon that the leftovers tasted nicer than the 1st one. =P

Taste = 3/5

Terminator vs. Wolverine

Just got bck frm Galleria 21 from a back-to-back movie marathon..Even though I had only 2 hrs of sleep in 31 hrs due to exam preparation,still went ahead with the movie plan.So I'm now SUPER DUPER EXHAUSTED!

It's Monday. So it means it's 50% discounts off all movie tickets!! Only Rp10,00 per ticket!!That's about RM3 per movie!!cheap,eh??

Anyway,my mates and I watched Terminator: Salvation and Wolverine:X-Men Origin was after.okay,let me make this short =)

Terminator:Salvation

Elisa and myself were the only M'sians among our uni mates watchin this movie. Movie started and bout 45 minutes later,i think, during one of the scene when John Connor(Christian Bale) and his troops were chasing after Marcus Wright aka The Terminator (Sam Worthington) because they thought he was the villain, I FELL ASLEEP!THIS IS MY FIRST TIME FALLING ASLEEP IN THE MOVIES!partly cause I was reli tired and the cinema was rather cold..bt I think mostly it was because I was bored with the first half of the movie. But things became more interesting later on. They had a short appearance of the original terminator,Arnold Schwarnezenegger, which was a lil exciting. NO TERMINATOR CAN TOP ARNOLD! hahaha....all in all, on a scale of 1 to 10, I rate this movie a 6..Plot wasn't much,very simple. But cant deny that it was action-packed. Prefer Christian Bale's acting in this rather than Batman. But one thing I like bout this movie, was this phrase "Everybody's gotta have a second chance in life". At the end, Marcus willingly gave his heart to John, which reminded me of when Jesus died for us on the cross for our sins..Marcus could have chosen not to give his heart, but because "everyone deserves a second chance in life",he willingly gave it to John so he could live.

Wolverine: X-Men Origin
Other friends finally join for this movie.I was glad that I got to watch this movie later. love it!At this point, among all the movies made based on marvel comics heroes, this is my ULTIMATE fav! There were jokes. There were real gruesome-fighting-punching-action. They even had a lil romance. All I can say is I LUUURRRVVVEEEE IT! Other reasons being the actors were awesome. Really good acting. The effects used in this movie is great! Reli reli love the way the plot worked out. But I think my utmost fav is...........................

RYAN REYNOLDS!!!!

Though he onli appeared for awhile, but that short moment was great!Loved his mutant power too~ And!HE'S HOT!!!!!!!He's the definition of MALE HOTNESS!!MALE SEXINESS!!!He'S FUNNY too!!I absolutely love him since I first saw him acting in the series 2guys,a girl and a pizza place??Oh!I wanna feel those abs and have his arms around me!hahhaahha Shit,I'm being crazy!haha

Hugh Jackman..well, what can I say?He rawks!The well-built actor and co-producer fit his character, a really good actor...He is.WOLVERINE. =)

Another actor I found cool and sexy was Gambit,don't knw his real name..Loved his mysterious eyes. and even his hands..love love LOVE! Yes ppl,I dont care if u're sayin I'm weird or pervertic rite now..hahha I have a fetish for looking at guy's hands..haha Overall, this movie, I rate it a 8 out of 10! =)

The verdict??*drum roll...* DEFINITELY THE UNDENIABLE WINNER: WOLVERINE!!!A must-watch! ;)

CLiniCaL NeuroloGy exam is finally over!!!another exam donE!

after busting my @$ off for this exam...sure am hoping for good result... ;) *praying,crossed fingers*

It has been a rather hectic week right after our 1st exam of this sem,musculoskeletal exam...2 wks later,we had our basic neurology exam...friggin onli 2WEEKS to study the whole basic:anatomy,physiology,histology,pharmacology,clinical pathology!!!!!!and 3 wks later,which is today,we had our clinical exam this morning.......finally it's done!phew!

unfortunately,I didn't do well at all for my basic neurology..*embarrased* =( *sob*sob*

Thank GOd though,both the basic and clinical neurology exam results are gonna b added together..35% basic and 65% clinical...so hopefully I'll score reli well to compensate fr my basic exam and pass overall!!

I think I'm being tested durin this period of time...to fully and totally trust GOd and leave it all to HIM..and I reli think that's what I'm doing..hehe so yea,we'll wait and see..

Our Lord God is a FAITHFUL God. He will provide all things that we NEED. When you have done your part,He will do His. Worry not about things u cannot control and leave it all to God!God Bless~

I was just browsing through Kara Dioguardi's official website, for the fun of it. She uploaded this reli cool vid of her singin this song, Taking Chances. FYI: This song became Celine Dion's first single in one of her album and was also the name of her world tour! Most of you would defo know this song =) Personally,I prefer Kara singin this song..Some of her masterpieces include Kelly Clarkson's "Walk Away" and Christina Aguilera's "Ain't No Other Man". Kara Dioguardi is an awesome2 songwriter!!love her work!love the way she express her opinions!And defo love her talent!

So yesterday began like every other day did.Got ready and head to Uni.And like every other day,we would pass by the cafeteria...

On the shelves were different types of buns...There were chocolate-filling buns, buns topped with cheese and sugar....And they had sosis abon..

SOSIS ABON.....Sosis = Sausage. Abon = Meat floss....So, sausage and meat floss bun for breakfast,anyone??

Well,if u actually did want the bun...Sorry to disappoint you....but the shelves were EMPTY.

Elisa: and he didnt even ask money at all??????????that's so weird...!!!

Conclusion : 1) After few incidences similar to that, most ppl in BALI are actually NICE despite othr certain things I prefer not to mention...
2) Never change ur shoes in the cab and put ur handphone on d seat.

3) DO NOT be like angel here....being careless..and carry bagpack thinking her hp is inside it.

This is seriously so overdue......*sigh*

This happened during anatomy classes...where we were suppose to look through different types of human bones...going through skeletons and recalling different types of the bones...

Of course we had to be serious..learning which part is what..."which bone is this?This is a child's bone,isnt't it?is this male or female??which part is the foramen magnum?What's this small little hole here?What's this line there?" and it goes on and on..could hear everyone recalling parts of the bones...

AND DEFINITELY BUSY TAKING PHOTOS!!!!!!

there was this point halfway thru class..some were getting too restless looking n too many bones...so what else better to do than to take photos and fool around to wake them up??

Hello loverrr.....do I look good??Bones of the face minus the top of my skull..

Imagine....opening your mouth really wide till you could see your palate...and much much more...The base of your cranium,ladies and gentlemen.

Cut your skull across....remove the upper part of your skull..remove your brain and everything else inside...and this is what you could see...See that huge hole right in the middle??there you go...that's called a foramen magnum.

How a hip bone looks like...thanks to this bone,it's one of the part wherr our butt muscles attach to..giving us that "sexy back"...phewwit!*wink*

The bone of your thigh...the FEMUR...the longest bone in our body,people..attaches to the hip bone.Thank God for this bone..lets us walk,haf knees,attach itself to the other bones of the leg..together with them leg bones, you can now walk dwn that runway...do squats and lunges in the gym..or just have that stroll along the beach =)

TATTOOS-A YES or A NO?

Good morning,people!*winks*Js woke up..hence,the morning greeting~ Js had my quiet time praying..and logged into my Facebook acc, only to find Ps.John Finkelde status: "my tatto post has even got Fletch writing poetry!" (Ps. John is an australian christian pastor residing in Perth and is one of the pastors of Christian City Church (C3) Hepburn Heights.) Whn I saw this, got me thinking this must mean that there's a blog entry in his website,rite?check out http://finkeldejohn.blogspot.com

So I visited his site and read bout the tattoo-entry. He wrote that he publish that post after reading an entry of a Singaporean pastor, the very famous Ps. Kong Hee from City Harvest Church, bout tattoos...found it very interesting.....check out www.konghee.com for more insights~

Tattoos??To get one or not to get one has always been my question.Are christians allowed to have tattoos? Have been questioning that for a long time now and am still thinking bout it. Is tattoing a sin?My dad thinks that getting a tattoo is not right and that a christian shudnt b gettin tatts. I think there are quite a number of parents who think so as well. Others think it's no biggie and it's okay havin them. And some don't even bother.

Personally, I think it's no harm for a christian to have tatts as long as those tatts aren't the kind that's "devilish-looking", "death symbols", "gangsta-looking" or any othr symbols that are obviously not "christian-like" for that matter. Tattoos are ways of self expression and also a personal reminder. Having that specific tatt has got to be meaningful. I believe that it's better we don't haf tattoos if its jus for the fun of it or js cz ur frens have them and you could show them off. And I reckon it's a BIG NO-NO if a gal/guy gets a tattoo for their othr half when they're not married,especially tattoos with the name of their bf/gf. What happens if the couple breaks up?Even worse if the breakup was ugly. That tattoo is definitely gonna remind u of that relationship u want to forget.And it will hurt. It's not that I'm sayin every relationship isn't gonna work out.Afterall,who can predict the future rite?I just think it's not that smart,is all. TATTOOS ARE PERMANENT(albeit removal with laser can be done bt are costly). THINK.PONDER.MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION.

Experiment cum a Doggie-Dog World

This is so so soooooooo long overdue...*sigh* I'm actually typing this on 11/May..but this happened like few weeks ago..onli had time to upload d pics bt nvr wrote the entry.. =P

Went for class today and today's "Basic Clinical Skills"(BCS) day...It's a day where we learn things bout physical examination techniques or looking at reli reli "ancient" cadavers or patient-interviewing "how-to's" and etc..So since today's BCS for physiology, we head to the physio lab and saw tools on the tables..

Wat we had to do today was :
1) To compare our work(in this case,the work of our hand) during steady state with fatigues related work...

2) To analyse the effect of blood supply distribution, rest and massage on the muscles of the working muscles....I'm guessing some of u dont understand wat i'm saying? O.o

The cylinder-looking thingy is called a TROMOL...it can actually turn automatically bt it rotated too fast.so we did it manually.
And the thing on the left with someone's hand, looks like he's making a "hand-gun" is called an ERGOGRAPH..didnt take the whole pic of it..sori..

Meng hon,being the test subject for one of the task..He's smiling..but he's actually in pain from the non-stop pulling of the ergograph handle..Betcha I can do more number of presses than u, Meng hon.. =P hehehe

My very own result! But it wasn't used for our group's case presentation..Me mates said it's not a "good" result for a normal person...heck =.=' Knw why? cause for a "normal" test subject, one would eventually feel tired after a number of times pulling the handle on the ergograph. So the amplitude of the graph above is suppose to decrease gradually or may even stop once one feels tired. But my DIDN'T. I just continued pulling the ergograph thingy wif my finger even when they ran out of paper for the graph. Well, what can I say....Angel have strong hands..hehehe =P

So after the experiment class, time to head back home. Had captain ball practice in the evening to get ready for this yearly Sports Day event we have in this rather huge park, Renon park..It's a park whr EVERYONE would go..that's why it's always packed in the evenings...Anyway, my frens and I were waiting for the others to arrive,so we sat at the steps for them..While waiting for them, about 12 DOGS passed by us...Pichas below are some of the many dogs that caught my attention!

DOG #4

I fell in love with "Blacky-White" here cause of his (i think) fur..Reli love dogs with long fur!!!From a distance, I could see "him" walkin side by side with it's owner, strolling away. The way "his" fur moved so softly wished I could just carry him and stroke them. He was walkin rather slow before I took the pic. But he ran so fast up this steps that I got a reli bad shot of him.. =( guess he's camera-shy.. :S

DOG(S) #3

Sori for the reli bad pics..they ran too fast for me to take a proper shot and I was lazy to get my butt off frm the steps when they stopped walking..Fell in love with this pair because :

1. Both were white
2. Both had nice lookin' fur and were kinda long
3. The smaller "hunk" made me think he a charming dog and could get any gal he wans if he was a person..I knw..I imagine too much..I'm weird in that sense.
4. The bigger, more furry, "dudette" was so CUTE!She had this small yellow bow on her head. She reminds me of a cute innocent gal =)

DOG #2

My #2 fav dog of the evening!! The whole time he was walking when I saw him and his partner(behind him), the first thing I said automatically was "Look!TWINS!"(yea,It sounds lame. It was one of those moments whr words js get out frm my mouth without passin thru d brain. =S) Had my camera fixed on him,he was jus strolling along normally. But once he reached the steps we were on, he climbed up a few steps and just POSE!!! "Mr.Poser here sure knws how to posed fr the camera,eh?Either that or he understood what one of my fren said out loud.. "yea,twins.But look so UGLY!"*sigh*

DOG #1!!!!!

This pair made the evening most interesting in the doggie "phenomenon". Frm afar, we knew that "The HUMPER"(the one behind) was trying to hump "THE HUMPEE"(the one in front) . Humper was tryin to hump the whole way he was walking wif their owners. And he succeeded jus a metre away or two. So we though the'd stop. But NO......Few steps away,he tried and Humpee walked straight towards us!and got humped again!!right before my feet!!was so shocked! In my head I was thinking "no...I don't wanna c dog porn right before my very eyes!!" One of my fren had to softly kicked Humpee's head away frm us cz Humper was gettin ready to get it on!Sori humpee... =P Took this pic just right before Humpee got kicked,explains the bad pic~

So there..it may not be that interesting..but somehow it made me HAPPY.

It's been quite some time since I've last blog...Been busy preparing for my musculoskeletal system exam.Ugh.Exams.Gotta remember every single muscles,every single bones,every single joints,every single tendons plus diseases of the musculoskeletal system??NOT FUN.Am taking a break from studying right now so I might as well blog. =) Last sunday,04.04.09. A little mini food blog..hahahha =.='

It was a normal day,nothing much was planned. Went joggin at 6.30am came bck,study..study,study,study.That's the most frequent used word these days...hmm...All that was planned was to haf a simple dinner in a fren's house to celebrate Yap and Tew's upcoming birthday..Us gals gave Yap a backpack and Tew a collared-T as their birthday prezzies.So yea,Pre-celebration thingy~

Bunch of them watched movies,the rest of us chitchat.Blablabla,Usual hangout agenda.But what I want to highlight is what we had for dinner.............

yeaps!!FISH,FISH,FISH and more FISH!!!7 of them to b exact.Main dish was this yummy barbequed FRESH fish..garupa fish and sum othr fish that I can't name.Don't knw what it's called..hehhehe..*sorry*The point is it was FRESH!!!and meat was SWEET!!!!All of us lurve it!!But I think there's one of them were barbequed for too long...it was kinda hard..Did I mention it was FRESH???oh yea...did..Put a small piece of the oh-so-sweet-fish into your mouth....and AAAHHHHHHH.......SOFT.....JUICY....FRESH...Every single bite exudes that sweet juice into your tastebuds...yummy~ Almost all the fishes we ate had the right texture and taste.

And what's indonesian food without it's spicy chillies,ryte??mini chilli padi, red chllies,green ones,chilli pastes,fresh cut chillies with soy sauce and onions....BASIC CRITERIA OF INDONESIAN FOOD: MUST-HAVE CHILLIES (SAMBAL).Preferably no ginger in the sambal.

So the shop that we bought the fish from gave us 3 different type of sambal-chilli paste thingy,green chillies in oil and fresh cut chillies mixed with red onions and soy sauce,if I'm not mistaken. I love thecolours of these hotties!Always make every dish look brighter... =) And for EVERY dish that's fried or roasted or barbequed, Indonesians will always serve them with raw cucumber, cabbage and mint leaves. I personally like these raw veggies. Eat them with chillies or belacan(spicy shrimp paste)...like the malays call it ulam...yumyum!!I'm a sucker for spicy food =P The chillies were so spicy till some of my friends were sweating!some had tears trickling down their cheeks...Could hear them saying "ssssssss-hhhaaa,sssss-hhhhaaaa" sounds here and there...funny funny...

Basically that's it,peeps. Had an awesome simple dinner.AWESOME FISH!!fruits...drinks.... =D

Just got back home. It's Friday...And what's friday in Christian City Church,Bali (C3 BALI) without "Unlimited Youth" service?

Christian City Church Bali is this AWESOME church I attend here in Bali and am a proud member! =D Attended youth today, went an hour earlier at 6.30pm for music practice since I'm playing keyboard this week. We were all told to wear white today. I wondered why at 1st, bt Sarah, my cell grp(we call it "connect" here) leader told that's because tonite's theme is "GLOW IN THE DARK". I was like "huh??we're all gonna glow??" And we really did glow in the dark!!!AWESOMENESS!! Kudos to those who did the lightings!*salutes*

Today's youth service didn’t start as usual with praise&worship 1st,then the sharing. Instead, they had games first, sharing then the praise&worship. Simple games..Had to have a rep from every connect grp. Since Sarah and I were the only ones frm our connect,newly named as "Ekklesia" which means "Church" in Greek, I had to join the games. 1st game: We had to say a sentence, our mouth stuffed with as many rambutans as we could shoved into and our members had to interpret what we said .Most of us could only shoved 5seeds,bt Ratna had 6 and her member s could interpret wat she said. So they obviously won. =) My sentence was "unlimited youth praise and worship" but whn I said it,it came out smth like "uongleeeemeeyeth yohhhh prieeetthhh ang wowhip"*swt* hahahha Was reli funny listening to them,includin me saying jibberish. 2nd game: The simple 3-player game passing a chip covered in flour to one another. Fastest time, wins.the very biasa kinda small kid game,hehe.

Unlimited youth's coordinator/"boss", Vanrhoo shared bout today's theme. Glow in the dark??Is to shine!Let us all shine through the darkness. Isaiah 60:1-3. Then service was almost over...Had praise&worship session and ended youth with prayer.Guess that's all for today,enuf said.

There's "April Mop" in Indonesia.It's april fool's every single day this month!

No wonder a friend frm church sent a sms to anothr friend today with a msg frm his "sister" announcing that he passed away this afternun at 3.15pm..And he jst msged me in fb at 4smth in d afternun. We were thinking "did he forget that yesterday was april 1st??" Lame april day joke,though..People,if u wanna trick othrs,do it RIGHT.

So feel free to play an april fool's....errmm...I mean "April Mop" trick on any1 who has GOOD sense of humour here in Indonesia or M'sia if u will...and say it's "legally" allowed according to Indonesia's standards.Blame them for it..hehehe*wink*

HAPPY APRIL FOOL'S DAY,GUYS!!Anyone got fooled today?? =) Don't think so.It isn't as fun as it was back in kindy or primary school where we would trick our friends. Laughing whn hearing "ouch!" whn they would sit on folded staples hurting their rear end or giggling with the "Hey-ur zipper's open!" trick. XD As we grow older,more people lose their sense of humour with tricks....I knw,I knw..some of them tricks isn't funny.annoying actually.Bet some of u reading is thinking "We're not 5-year-olds anymore!!!" Met her almost 3 years back,she was only 18,was in the same discussion group for 1and half year.Totally love her personality the first time I met her...For those who don't knw her...She's one of the most KINDest, bubblY, CutEst, FRIENDLY, hElPfuL person I knw!!!One of the very few... =) A gal with great personality!And even though I don't show it to her..Bt I actually do love her to bits!!hehehe..

Poor gal had to go thru a "treasure hunt" today,looking for her previous grp members(d 1 after our 1st grp.we were shuffled in grps 3 times!) Took more than half an hour,going up and dwn the stairs,frm the east wing to the west,js to look for the first person!!edwin was so "smart" to hide...bck home!hehehhe After the "fun" of finding the 12 people...and "impress" them..a HUGE frame with memorable pics of her with her mates was waiting for her!!It was reli reli sweet of them to put all that together.Wish I could haf a pic of it here =( Couldn't stop laughing wen she had to dance/sing/rap..basically do ANYTHING to get those clues for d pressie! Every1 js love her!!And me included!!My simple 'lil pressie for her here..hehhehe Dedicated to NANA..HAPPY BIRTHDAY,BABE!!!

Back Again....

It's sunday today....the LAST day of my 5 days holiday...Oh no...

We had holiday in conjunction with the Hari Nyepi(Silent Day) and Kuningan. I'm not so sure what exactly do the Balinese celebrate during Kuningan.Kinda forgotten but its basically some sort of a new year thingy in their Hindu calendar,whr Galungan and Kuningan Day marks somthing like the new year.In their calendar,1 whole year = 6months our normal calendar. Hari Nyepi was last thurs and Kuningan was last saturday.

Before the holiday started,I made a promise to myself that I'm gonna study and use my time properly. "I'm gonna finish studying the anatomy of appendicular skeleton this holiday..!!"hahhahahahahha...But somehow I kinda had the feeling deep down inside that I won't.......What did I do the pass couple of days???Basically "ALMOST" nothing.

A bunch of us went to the beach on wed for sunrise at Sanur Beach,which is 'bout 20mins frm my place.Woke up at 4am!Bloody Heck!And I onli slept at 2am...got things ready,boiled and smashed some eggs with one eye closed,bath and took off at 4.30.Whn we reached,it was still dark(of course!),saw a couple of ppl there,some of them were starting to set up stalls at 5smth...Saying to myself "Why would i wanna c the sunrise now??why wanna wake up so blardy darn early during ur holiday????and we had nothing to do there since it was still dark and our othr frens was still not there.Ended up playin sum ball passing game,accompanied by a dog at d beach....And suddenly...SWISSHHH...*flap*flap*flap*...a BAT was flying encircling the 5 of us.and Maha was afraid till she did this weird-looking-like-a-hunched-old lady-walk.not as funny whn I'm tellin u,but man,it reli was!laughing and teasing her finally made me reli awake..hehhe At 5smth,could see the moon settling dwn with glimpse of sunrays in the sky.it was beautiful.couldn't wait to c the sun rise...

Othr friends finally came,went to the hut there and watch the sun rise..IT WAS GORGEOUS!!!all the waking up early,making sandwiches at 4am while sleeping...It didnt matter.It paid off!!!Dark sky turned blue with rays of yellow and orange...lurveee it..Some were tooooooo busy eating and chatting...u pigs!hehhe So only me,Maha and Saras took pics together with Mr.Sun..camwhoring XD

Finally,we all wen dipping and swimming!!!yay!!the waves were hitting at the right momentum.Not too harsh,not too lame..hhehe swam,talked,dipped and played in the sea for almost 2 and half hours...And the result??A TAN.ugh. Was enjoyin the swim till I'd forgotten that I get dark easily. :S Basically,saw the sun rise.Had fun.Went back at 11smth.bath and slept.Then day continued with sleeping,chatting,studyin,internet surfing.

Thursday:Hari Nyepi.Whr the whole pop in Bali aren't allowed to on their lights and be out of their homes.Since I'm here,I gotta follow these rules too.Its a day whr Hindus pray and meditate the whole day.Even the airport was CLOSE.No flights in or out.Didnt do anything much,studied and watched movie.One thing I love bout this day is u can see beautiful bright stars shining thru the dark sky(it reli was pitch black).I bet none of u could see that many stars back in M'sia. There were thousands of them.wish I could take a picture of it and show it here bt it wouldn't gif the stars justice.Pictures wouldnt show how pretty it was.
And thursday ended,here comes PLAIN OLD BORING FRI.only studied since I had to fin studying wat I had to study.Saturday was the same and even worse,I studied much less than the day before.I blame the mind that was unable to concentrate on that day.YES U,ANGEL'S MIND.*knock*knock*

And finally...sunday.(and also finally almost the end of this entry!)Couldnt go to church cz was not well.woke up reli late,wasted more than half a day,sleeping.went out with Maha for some basic shopping.and studied.bt didnt reach my target.damn....and back to uni again,studying and lectures.its gonna be a loooonnngggg weeekkkk... )=

Hols over.And no,I didnt reach my target*slaps*and dats why the almost nothing.Guess that feeling was rite.ANATOMY IS JUST TOO MUCH TO STUDY AND ABSORB!! Tomorrow's so gonna be a better hardworking day.Gotta encourage meself.hehe Finally,I'm done here.Sori for the long entry..tata for now!

All these while I type my not-so-very-first first blog =) Not my very first blog since I've done it a few years back.Twice.But never stayed on for long since lazy me was being,well,lazy. First as in the first blog in 5 yrs :S After 5 yrs,the urge of having my blog has emerge again.So here.My first blog entry.Another channel to express my thoughts,show interesting stuff and those that are not.Random things and those that aren't.In Bali,(I'm studying here), Kuching(I'm from here) and everywhere else.
